Class Routines

Dear Parents and Caregivers

My name is Mrs Jolanta Gall and I have the privilege of being your child’s teacher for 2015.  I am looking forward to working with you in partnership to ensure your child has a happy and successful year at school.

Routines are an important part of classroom organisation. For your information, here are the Room 7 routines.
Stationery
A stationery list will have been given to you prior to your child starting school. During the year I will send home a short note if any  items need replacing. We spend a good part of the day using our white boards and white board markers need regular replacement. On average a child will use two/three per term.
Play Lunch
Please send play lunch to school in a separate container and place in the labelled container in the classroom.
Money
Please send money to school in an envelope with your child’s name and purpose of the money clearly written on the outside.
Sun hats
Your child is required to wear a full brimmed sunhat green or blue in Term 1 and Term 4.
Swimming
Please send togs and towel every day during the swimming season. (Term 1 and 4.) Please ensure all clothing is named and items are stored in a separate bag.
Reading
Your child will receive a reading book to read at home with you Monday through to Thursday. Please complete and sign the home reading record note book.
Early Words and Poetry Book.
Your child will bring home this book Monday through to Thursday with the word for the day. Please read through the sentences each day.
School Notices
Notices will be sent home in the reading folder.
Home Contact and Poetry Book
This book is kept in the reading folder and must go between home and school daily.  Newsletters and learning goals for sound knowledge and maths goals will be placed  in the back together with a weekly poem. We encourage you to read through the poetry during the weekend.. You are welcome to place any comments on your child’s learning and or progress in this book.
Library
The class will visit the library once a week. Room 7’s Library Day is Tuesday. Children may keep the books at home for a week.
Absences
If your child is sick or will not be at school, please phone the office.
Self Management
In order for your child to learn to be a self manager please ensure that they arrive at school with sufficient time to sort their belongs for the start of the school day at 8.55.

If you have any questions or concern please don’t hesitate to ask.

Kind regards

Jolanta Gall
